Hey Saskatoon

Ran to the plane and sat in the lonely window seat
Waiting for my ten hour flight
The stale cabin air and flight attendants really got to me
But out of the corner of my eye, I saw a beautiful sight, I was staring at

Blonde hair and eyes the color of the midday sky
And a smile that lit up just like the moon
And when he called me “California girl”, well I almost died
He told me he was from Saskatoon

Well we talked for hours and hours, ‘cause hours is all we had
And those hours went by too fast, but Lord I sure am glad
You turned and talked to me, and let me get to know you
Hey, Saskatoon

I wish I knew how conversation could go like that
Wish I listened when they told me times flies
And then he asked to borrow my pencil, and he never gave it back,
Well he’ll always have that to remember me by

As I was falling asleep, drifting into a sweet kind of dream,
My flight got a whole lot better, when the flight attendant asked him if we were together
So I fell asleep smiling on that silly little thought
We were friends for ten hours, and that’s all we got

When we touched down in Amsterdam, well we had to go our separate ways
He handed me my bag while my cheeks turned a rosier hue
For the first time ever, I wanted to stay on that plane, but
Saskatoon said, “Have a nice trip” and all I could say was “You, too.”
Hey Saskatoon
